Obituary for Betty Jane Easter
Betty Jane Heston Easter, of Redfield passed away Thursday, August 19, 2015 at the Stuart Community Care Center. Visitation will be held 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday, August 21 at the Johnson Family Funeral Home – Dexter Chapel. Funeral service will be held 10:30 A.M. Saturday, August 22 at the Johnson Family Funeral Home – Dexter. Burial will be held in Harper Cemetery in Rural Redfield. Memorial contributions may be made to the Betty Jane Easter Memorial Fund and may be sent in Care of Johnson Family Funeral Home, PO Box 246, Stuart, Iowa 50250. Betty was born December 29, 1923 in Des Moines, Iowa to John and Dolly Gertrude Higgins Heston. She grew up in Seymor, Iowa where she attended school. Betty was united in marriage to John Ross Easter on September 18, 1944 in Bethany, Missouri. After their marriage they lived in Ankeny before making their home in Redfield in the 60’s, She worked at Dean’s Studios and Meredith Corporation in Des Moines before staying home to raise her children. Throughout the years, Betty also helped her husband refurbish homes in the area. Betty enjoyed playing games, reading, but her real enjoyment in live was her kids, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, John, siblings, John Heston, of Des Moines, Iowa, May Beaman of Redfield, Iowa, Bill Heston of Arizona, Ed Heston of Ankeny, Iowa, Dick Heston of Humiston, Iowa, Bob Heston of Sheraton, Iowa and Fred Heston of Carlisle, Iowa.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children, Mike (Charlotte) Easter of Dexter, Iowa and Sue (Harry) Light of Redfield, Iowa; grandchildren, Lisa (Kelly) Sand and their children, Ella and Emma of Redfield, Jennifer (Jason) Tigges and their children Camryn and Carson of Redfield, and Matt (Kayla) Easter and their children Brooklyn and Ross of Dexter, Iowa, Shellbie Light of Des Moines; Sister-in-laws and a host of friends all of whom will miss her greatly.
