Cyrus "Cy" G. Earhart, 92 of Stuart passed away on Friday, May 27, 2022 at the Community Care Center in Stuart. Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 A.M. on Tuesday, May 31st at the First Congregational Church in Stuart. Visitation will begin at 9:30 A.M. until the time of the service in the Fellowship Hall at the First Congregational Church. Burial will take place at the South Oak Grove Cemetery. Cy was born on December 20, 1929 to Wilbur and Anna (Morton) Earhart. He grew up in the Menlo and Stuart areas and graduated from Stuart High School with the class of 1948. He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Della Dickey on December 4, 1949 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. They lived south of Stuart where they farmed and raised their three children: Mike, Mark and Michele. Cy and Della moved into Stuart in 1990 and spent many winters in Texas where Cy volunteered several hours.
Cy was an active member at the First Congregational Church in Stuart, the Stuart Lions Club and the Fellowship of Christian Farmers. In addition to farming, he worked with his brother Dale operating an insurance agency.
In his spare time, he enjoyed birdwatching, working outside, camping, tractor drives and parades, flying airplanes and listening to local musical groups.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Della; and brother, Dale.
He leaves behind his loving children: Mike (Sue) Earhart of Gastonia, NC, Mark (Elizabeth) Earhart of Stuart, and Michele (Mike) Givan of Des Moines; grandchildren: J.B. Barnhouse of Iowa City, Shannon Dole of Grundy Center, Kate Millage of Earlham, Justin Givan of Mineral Springs, TX, Nikki Givan of Des Moines, Angel Melvin of Prole, Lisa Earhart of Gastonia, NC, Teresa Smith of Holly Springs, NC and Jeana Lothridge of South Carolina; 13 great-grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends that will miss him dearly.
