Obituary for Fletcher Osler
Fletcher Osler, 85, of Redfield passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at his home. Visitation will be held from 5-7 P.M. on Friday, October 9th at the Johnson Family Funeral Home in Dexter. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. on Saturday, October 10th at the Morrisburg Cemetery north of Stuart. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fletcher Osler Memorial Fund and sent in care of Johnson Family Funeral Home, PO Box 246, Stuart, IA 50250. Fletcher was born January 20, 1930 to Fletcher and Bertha (Crandal) Osler in Adel, Iowa. He attended schools in Redfield and graduated from Redfield High School. He was united in marriage to Anna Mae Marlenee on June 26, 1949. To this union two children were born, Connie and Keith. The family made their home in rural Redfield. After Anna Mae’s death Fletcher spent 31 years with his life partner Bonnie Blanchard.
Fletcher spent most of his adult life farming ground north of Dexter. He also worked at the Iowa Soy Bean Plant at Redfield and drove a school bus for Dexfield Schools. He enjoyed farming, raising horses and was a talented machinist that could build and fix anything. His best times were spent with his family and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Mae; parents; siblings, Harold, Howard and Helen.
He leaves behind his children, Connie Osler of Earlham and Keith (Jenneth) Osler of Redfield; grandchildren: Terra (Anthony) Brummett, Jonathon (Monica) Thompson, Travis (Mandy) McDaniel, Crystal (Zach) Wright, Chad (Amanda) Osler, Ryan Osler; great grandchildren: Noah, Araina, Cheyenne, Matthew, Joshua, Caedmon, Avery and a host of other family and friends that will miss him dearly.
