Frances Carper, 92, of Stuart formerly of Redfield passed away at Mercy West on March 6, 2018. Memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 10th at the Redfield Christian Church. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Luncheon will immediately follow the memorial service. Burial will be at East Linn Cemetery near Redfield. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Redfield Christian Church. Online condolences may be left at www.johnsonfamilyfuneralhome.com.
Frances was born on October 25, 1925 to Joseph and Myrtle (Thompson) Parker in Redfield, Iowa. She grew up in Redfield and graduated from Redfield High School. Frances worked at Look Magazine, Budget Marketing and Parker Brothers.
On June 21, 1969 Frances married Lester Carper. They had been married 49 years. Frances was a member of the Redfield Christian Church. Frances enjoyed going camping, dancing and most of all enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Frances’ hobbies were sewing, painting, watching birds, cooking and making crafts.
Frances was preceded in death by her husband Lester Carper, her parents Joseph and Myrtle Parker; siblings: Roger and James Parker, and son Robert Reed.
She leaves behind her children: Caroline Morgan of Redfield, Ron (Chris) Reed of Fontanelle, Randy (Marti) Reed of Perry, Connie (Larry) Mylan of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas and Cindy (Al) Scaglione of Urbandale; step-children: Ronald (Kristi) Carper of Menlo, LaVonne (Kyle) Morris of Colorado Springs, CO, Arlene (Randy) Harwood of Monteith, eleven grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchild, ten step great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren and six step great-great grandchildren, sisters: Josephine Fisher and Elsie Deaton.
