Obituary for Gage Lloyd Ralph Koder
Gage Lloyd Ralph Koder, 23, of Casey, Iowa passed away November 13, 2018 in an automobile accident. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. Sunday, November 18, 2018 at the Johnson Family Funeral Home & Crematory – Stuart Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gage Koder Memorial Fund and may be sent in care of Johnson Family Funeral Home, PO Box 246, Stuart, Iowa 50250. Gage affectionately known as “Joe Dirt” by his brothers, was born June 16, 1995 in Des Moines, Iowa to Jerry Koder and Vicki Peterson. Gage grew up in the Adair-Casey area before moving to Monroe where he attended and graduated from Prairie City Monroe High School with the class of 2014. While in high school Gage participated in wrestling and football. After graduating, Gage moved back to Casey to make his home. Gage was employed at Cornerstone Landscaping, which was a great fit for Gage being an avid outdoorsman. He had worked for Cornerstone for the past 2 years. He enjoyed deer and coyote hunting, jeep four wheeling and canoeing down the rivers. Gage's favorite pastime was spending time with his family, friends and his beloved dog Joker. He will be fondly remembered for his quick wit and smile that seemed to always lite up the room.
He is preceded in death by one grandfather, Jerry Koder Sr., great grandparents Lloyd and Helen Peterson and Ruth Downing, great aunt Annette Nielsen, cousin Leah Shea Stark, and his beloved dog Diesel.
Gage leaves behind to cherish his memory, his mother Vicki Peterson, of Casey, Iowa; step- mother Jill Koder of Monroe, Iowa; father Jerry Koder Jr.; maternal grandparents, Ralph and Toni Peterson of Casey, Iowa; paternal grandmother Dorothy Elaine Koder of Des Moines; siblings, Seth Comly (Mollie), Tyler Koder, Brittney Hitze (Fredrick) and Joshua Krueger (Ashley); cousin Cameron Stark, his best friend; along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends all of whom will miss him greatly.
