Jo Ann was born December 28, 1933 in Des Moines, Iowa to Clarence and Dorothy (Britt) Peters. She grew up on a farm outside of Menlo and graduated from Menlo High School with the class of 1951. At an early age, Jo Ann contracted polio and through her stays at the hospital she developed her passion in life as a caregiver, by reading and helping other children with their daily routines. This continued after her graduation, she started nursing training at the Adair County Hospital where she worked throughout the week and on the weekends would head back to Menlo to be close to family. Jo Ann was united in marriage to George N. Hall on October 24, 1952 and together they became the proud parents of five children, Craig, Kevin, Tim, Jodie, and Dana. She took a break from nursing and once again took on the role as a caregiver, loving wife and mother. In 1957, the family moved to Greenfield and then to Waverly in 1977. They made their home in Waverly until 1996, when they moved back to Greenfield. Jo Ann was a member of the Greenfield United Methodist Church. Throughout the years, she also served as a Cub Scout Den Mother and was involved with Rainbows. Jo Ann loved animals and enjoyed taking care of the neighborhood cats. She also enjoyed a yard full of flowers and most of all, spending time with her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Dorothy Peters, her husband, George in 2010, one son, Craig in 1987, and one brother, Larry Peters in 2004.

Jo Ann leaves behind her children to cherish her memory, Kevin (Carol) Hall, of Greenfield, Iowa, Tim Hall, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Jodie (Greg) Seaton, of Kearney, Missouri, and Dana (David Ferguson) Hall, of Austin, Texas; grandchildren, Ryan (Megan) Hall of Ankeny, Iowa, Stacie (Ryan) Zenor, Greenfield, Iowa, Matthew Hall and fiancée Haley Weiss, of Johnston, Iowa, Katherine Devnich, of Silver Day, Washington, Eli Hall and fiancée Morgan Osterhaus, of Waterloo, Iowa, Ian Hall of Waterloo, Iowa, Elliott Hall, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Derrick Seaton, of Kearney, Missouri and Allison Seaton and her fiancée Brennen Day, of Kearney, Missouri; great-grandchildren, Brody Hall, of Ankeny, Iowa, Abbigail and Ellie Zenor, of Greenfield, Iowa and Miller Devnich, of Silver Dale, Washington; brother, Randy (Sue) Peters, of Peoria, Illinois, and nieces, one nephew and a host of friends all of whom will miss her greatly.
