Obituary for Lora (Clayton) Russell

Lora (Clayton) Russell, 59, of Stuart passed peacefully on June 4th, 2020 at her home. Per her wishes cremation has taken place at Johnson Family Funeral home & Crematory – Stuart Chapel. Services will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Vicki Clayton and may be sent in care of Johnson Family Funeral Home & Crematory, PO Box 246, Stuart, Iowa 50250. Lora was born on September 16, 1960 to Ray and Victoria (Griffin) Clayton at the Adair County Hospital in Greenfield, Iowa. She graduated in 1979 from Dexfield Community School in Redfield. Lora had been blessed with three children.

Lora worked many jobs to provide for her family, such as waitressing for several establishments, and working as a bankruptcy clerk for nearly ten years.

After the birth of Lora’s youngest child, is when her health issues began. She had conquered cancer numerous times before finally succumbing to the disease. However, Lora always maintained her hope, spirit, and love for family. She was a very beloved daughter, sister, mother and grandmother.

Surviving Lora is her mother, Vicky Clayton of Dexter; daughters, Madison (MaQuel) Torstenson of West Des Moines and Debra Clayton of Stuart; son Jeff McGee of Dexter; grandchildren, Jordan, Isabella, Olivia, Addy, Ava, Lilli, Victor, and Kai; brother, Daniel (Monica) Clayton of Carroll; and sister, Sherri Clayton of Dexter.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ray Clayton and brother, Michael Clayton.

Lora will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
