Olinda Rachel (Claussen) Krause, 70, of Massena, Iowa passed away peacefully at her home September 1, 2020. Memorial Services will be held 10:30 A.M. Thursday, September 10, 2020 at the First Lutheran Church in Wiota. Burial will take place in the First Lutheran Cemetery following the service. A visitation/luncheon will be held following the burial at the First Lutheran Church. Memorial contributions can be made to the First Lutheran Church of Wiota and/or the Massena Fire Department. Olinda was born July 11, 1950 in Anita, Iowa to William C. and Thelma C Petersen Claussen. She grew up in Anita and graduated from Anita High School with the class of 1969. She was united in marriage to Jim Krause on February 3, 1980 in Anita at Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Together they became the proud parents of one son, Charles. Following their marriage they made their home in Massena. Growing up, Olinda was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Anita where she was baptized on July 31, 1955 and later confirmed on April 25, 1965. Family was particularly important to Olinda. She took care of her father prior to his passing and after her son Charles was born he was her first priority. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church and the Ruth Circle Quilting Club. She enjoyed flowers, reading, and spending time with her family and many friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, William C. Claussen and Thelma C. Claussen Howell and her beloved stepfather, Owen K. Howell.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband Jim Krause of Massena; son, Charles Krause of the Atlantic; siblings, Sherm (Thelma) Claussen of Irwin, , Herm (Deb) Claussen of Lawson and Bill (Kathy) Claussen of Atlantic; step sister, Penny (Leonard) Lanxon of Newell; brother-in-law’s, Francis (Dixie) Krause of Massena and Darrel (Esther) Darrel Krause of Massena and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members whom will miss her greatly.
