Dorothy Lucille Coe was born on December 29, 1915 to William and Charlotte (Sheeder) Coe. Dorothy grew up on the family farm in Seeley Township with her brothers: Orville, William, Harold and Wilfred Leroy who have all preceded her in death. She attended Seeley #9 through the 8th grade. On March 25, 1937 she was united in marriage to Marvel Roger Foresman. In the early years of their marriage, they lived in Guthrie Center where their first child, a son, Thurlow was born. They later moved to a farm house on her father’s farm for a short time and Marvel operated a traveling grain mill. In the mid 1940’s they purchased a house and small acreage in Monteith where she would reside for the next 60 plus years. In 1952 a daughter, Loretta Ann was born.

Dorothy was very active and lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed sewing, bowling, Rebecca Lodge, politics, gardening, flowers, raising chickens, geese and other small farm animals. On Saturday nights, she could be found at Raccoon Ridge dancing the night away. She worked for Garst & Thomas sorting seed corn for over 60 years. This revived her skills of corn husking that she had learned as a young girl while working on the family farm. She enjoyed traveling to different states and participating in husking contests. She often placed in the 40 year-old category and often placed first or second among them.

Dorothy was a mother, grandma, and great-grandma who will be deeply missed. She touched many lives with her kindness and giving. She is survived by her son, Thurlow (Thomas Rest Haven, Coon Rapids) and daughter Loretta (Ben) Sloss of Stuart; six grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
