Obituary for Cody Charles McIntire
Cody Charles McIntire, 37, of Des Moines formerly of the Stuart-Menlo area, passed away unexpectedly March 4, 2019 at his home. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 P.M. Saturday, March 23, 2019 at the Johnson Family Funeral Home & Crematory – Stuart Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cody McIntire Memorial Fund. Cody was born May 28, 1981 in Des Moines to Stephen and Teresa (Teri) Green McIntire. He grew up in the Stuart-Menlo area graduating from West Central High School with the class of 1999. While in school, Cody enjoyed FFA and being part of the West Central High School band. Following high school, he enrolled in school at DMACC and received his Associates Degree. He later went on to complete his Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Upper Iowa University. Cody met the love of his life, Lonee Knutson in February 2007. They were united in marriage on June 10, 2017 in North St. Paul, Minnesota and following their marriage they made their home in the Des Moines area. Cody was employed at Charles Gabus Ford for 11 years and for the past 4 years has been employed at ARI Company as a Content Publishing Specialist. Cody was a past member of the Menlo Fire and Rescue Department where he served as an EMT. He enjoyed politics and served the area campaigning for John Kerry during his bid for President. Cody shared his mother’s passion of paying his respects to family members at cemeteries during Memorial Day weekend and shared his father’s passion of hunting. He was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Iowa Hawkeyes. He also enjoyed playing Golden Tee, working on family genealogy, collecting coins and spending time with his family, friends and his niece Millie.

He is preceded in death by his sister, Mariah McIntire; grandparents, Sam and Jean McIntire and Ted and Teresa Green, uncle, Marty Green and aunts, Patti Green, Rose Krizer and Pam Farren.

Cody leaves behind to cherish his memory, his beloved wife, Lonee of Des Moines, Iowa; parents, Steve and Teri McIntire of Murray, Iowa; brother, Sam (Crissi) McIntire and their daughter Millie of Stuart, Iowa; mother and father-in-law, Robert and Barbara Knutson of Mendota Heights, Minnesota; brother and sister-in-law, Joshua (Jennifer) Knutson and their children, Kyli and Luke of Rosemount, Minnesota; uncles, Pat Green (Maria Brown) of Dubai and Gene (Polly) Green of Punta Gorda, Florida, Jim McIntire of Des Moines, Iowa, Dean Farren of Boone, Iowa, Steve Krizer of Altoona, Iowa and a host of other relatives and friends all of whom will miss him dearly.
