Obituary for Betty Jane Griffith
Betty (Manders) Griffith, of Stuart (formerly from Redfield) passed away July 8, 2019 at the Stuart Community Care Center.

She was born on January 21, 1926 near Van Meter, Iowa. She lived in the Waukee, Adel and Redfield area most of her life, graduating from Adel High School in 1943. She married Willard Griffith, also an Adel Class of ’43 grad, in Adel on February 22, 1946.

After marriage they lived in Adel for 6 years before moving to Redfield where they lived for almost 55 years. They then moved into The Willows Assisted Living Facility and the Stuart Community Care Center the final few years of her life.

She worked for Adel Abstract Company, Redfield (later Dexfield) Schools, and Northern Natural Gas Company before retiring.

Betty will be missed by her two children and their wives: Cary (Kris) of Nashua and Leonard (Janean) of Omaha; her 7 married grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren, and her sister-in-law Corrine (Griffith) Thornton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard, sister, Dorothy and husband Bill Clopton, her brother Harold and wife Marabel, along with brother-in-law Herschel Thornton.

Family graveside services will be held on September 1, 2019 at the Harper Cemetery north of Redfield
